Datacom Systems New 10 Gigabit Data Access Switch enhances Application Performance Monitoring

Developed for customers that have deployed 10 Gigabit networks and need the ability to monitor application traffic with a mix of 10 Gigabit and 1 Gigabit tools, the new device sends application specific traffic to the appropriate monitoring tools.

Key Features

As the latest member of Datacom Systems data capture infrastructure family of products, the VERSAstreamTM, VS-1212-F Data Access Switch, has 12 ports to enable multiple tools to monitor traffic collected from SPAN ports or external network TAPs. Each port supports SFP+ or SFP modules which allow a media independent mix of devices to connect to the switch at 10 or 1 gigabit speeds. Customers can selectively aggregate; regenerate and filter traffic so that application specific tools receive only the traffic they need to see.

With remote control capability, modular management, power and ports, the VERSAstreamTM is poised to allow network engineers to send network traffic to Intrusion Detection Systems, packet analyzers, recording and compliance tools. Both the 12 and 24 port VERSAstreamTM will be released this summer.
